This is a 3 year technical apprenticeship. The successful candidate will gain experience in all areas of mechanical design & manufacturing, with a focus on Mechanical Engineering Design using state of the art CAD 3D modelling techniques.

In additional to in house training / mentoring, apprentices will continue their academic studies part-time, working towards a BTEC HNC and beyond.

Qualifications.
Applicants must have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s grades A-C, including Maths, English & Science, and be working towards a higher engineering based qualification such as a BTEC National or Higher National Certificate. Some experience of Technical Drawing would be advantageous.

Personal Qualities.
Excellent computer / IT skills are essential. You should be confident, articulate, self-motivated and capable of working on your own initiative with the minimum of supervision. You should also have a methodical and organised approach, take pride in your work, have an eye for detail and an appetite for success.

The successful candidate will assist with new builds in our sub-contract workshops; this will include the fitting of cabling / actuators / controls, and the setting up, inspection and functional testing of the finished product prior to despatch. Site surveys, installation, commissioning, repair, retrofit and troubleshooting  work would be required on-site in the UK, offshore and around the world.

All applicants must be qualified to ONC (min) in a Mechanical Engineering related discipline and have a proven track record in a similar role. Some experience of electrical cabling, pneumatics and instrumentation would be advantageous.

An articulate and confident person, you will enjoy working as part of a small dedicated team, but will also be self-motivated and capable of working on your own initiative with the minimum of supervision.
