Welcome to Stanton Tennis Club.................................................

Established in the 1930s and originally the tennis section of the Stanton Ironworks Sports and Social Club. Stanton Tennis Club is now the largest tennis club in Ilkeston and the only one offering tennis for all ages and abilities as well as professional coaching. Our tennis courts are still situated at the old ironworks sports ground (Hallam Fields Rd., Ilkeston, Derbyshire) which is now known as “The Stute” and is the headquarters of Ilkeston Rugby Club.

The club works closely with the Lawn Tennis Association and also Erewash Borough Council for whom the club organises tennis courses as part of the its commitment to the wider community. The club takes seriously its responsibilities regarding child protection and appoints annually a child protection officer. This officer, the coaches and club members with specific responsibilities for young people, all have “enhanced disclosure” CRB Clearance. The club is committed to equality of opportunity for all and has as the first clause in its constitution “The club’s objective shall be to facilitate the playing of tennis by all, regardless of age, ability, disability, gender, race, ethnicity, religious belief, sexuality, or social/economic status.” The full constitution is available by clicking here.
