Damper Technology Ltd (DTL) have just announced record figures for order intake over the last 3 month period. Order intake for the last quarter is up by 51% on this time last year, having won several large projects to supply industrial dampers for Waste Heat Recovery Units (WHRU’S) for projects in Africa and the Middle East, replacement dampers and spares/service work for WHRU’s that have seen 20 years harsh offshore service in the North Sea, and contracts with a number of new customers from Biomass Power plant installations requiring industrial dampers.
Following the launch of a range of specially engineered dampers for applications involving process gases containing SO2 / SO3, DTL have also won a large order for high pressure acid plant dampers requiring zero leakage to atmosphere for a plant in Saudi Arabia.
DTL are now further planning for their future and are seeking to appoint an Electrical Fitter at their manufacturing plant in Leicester and an additional Design Engineer/Draughtsperson. And following the progression of one of their first apprentices stepping up into a junior role within the engineering department, working on projects from conception through all stages of the design process, the Company has given an opportunity to another entry level apprentice at the Eastwood design office with immediate effect.
DTL took on their first apprentices in 2012 and the first intake have successfully completed their 2nd year, culminating in a level 4 HNC in Mechanical Engineering, so delighted with the progress and success of these, DTL have now introduced apprentices into other areas of their business.
DTL employed their first factory mechanical engineering apprentice in 2013 who has now completed a full year with the company and is demonstrating skills in plating, welding and assembly with minimal supervision.
