National Apprenticeship Week

Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week

Join us in celebrating National Apprenticeship Week! This week, we honour the dedication of apprentices and the commitment of employers across the UK, showcasing the incredible impact of apprenticeships on the careers of our young people, and the benefits to our business.

As a Company blessed with numerous staff at every level who started their career journey as an engineering apprentice, we know and appreciate the value that apprentices bring to the business, not just through the work they carry out but also the motivation enjoyed by their peers whilst helping to develop these young peoples skills and experience.

Meet Our Apprentices

George is our first year craft apprentice, learning how we manufacture our industrial dampers in the fabrication shop. And he couldn’t be in better company, pictured here alongside Rhys (left), our welding supervisor, who also started his career as an apprentice with DTL.

Then, meet Luis, our first year technical apprentice pictured here with Andrew, our Group Technical Manager. Having completed an initial period of practical workshop experience, Luis now works in our design department and will shortly be undertaking some off-the-job SolidWorks training to learn his CAD skills and start his industrial damper design journey on the right path.

Our apprenticeships are structured programs that combine practical work experience with study, and our apprentices regularly attend college and undergo regular assessments so that they complete their apprenticeship with recognised qualifications, as well as skills and experience.

As National Apprenticeship Week comes to a close, DTL will carry forward the spirit of learning, mentorship, and collaboration. Apprenticeships must continue to be a cornerstone of our workforce development and a bridge of opportunity for budding engineers.
