ISO9001:2008 For DTL India – 03/07/2014

Damper Technology Ltd’s (DTL) Indian subsidiary company has been going from strength to strength in recent months and they have now achieved accreditation to the Quality Management System Standard ISO9001:2008 for the Manufacture and Supply of Dampers in their own right.

DTL India was incorporated in 2011 and has established a strong presence in the Indian damper marketplace since it began operating.  It was always the intention, as work from the Indian operation grew, that they would Indian Factory Build Progressinvest in their own manufacturing facilities, so in addition to their existing workshop a new larger factory is now in progress of being built.  The circa 30,000 sq. ft. fabrication and assembly plant is due to be completed by the end of the year.

 

Managing director of DTL India, Mr Suresh Menon, said “The recent ISO 9001:2008 accreditation will be a real selling point for us in the Indian market, and this achievement is being celebrated by staff and customers alike.  With support and guidance from the UK office we put the quality management system practices in place right from the outset.   The DTL brand is all about providing a quality engineered damper solution whether you buy from the UK, India, North America or via any of our worldwide agents, as we all communicate and leverage on the expertise and local market knowledge within the group.”

The team in India consists of a management structure, design engineers, project managers and sales staff, all of whom collaborate closely with their parent company colleagues in the UK. And as part of the company’s commitment to continued development, a valued member of DTL’s UK engineering department, William Lamb, will shortly be taking up a 2 month secondment in India, to train and transfer his knowledge and experience on 3D modelling and specific product design.

Guillotine damper Indian Manufacture Recent jobs for DTL India have included large scale guillotine dampers with seal air and flap diverters which have been supplied for large FGD projects and offshore platforms.  The complex design work for these projects has been carried out by the experienced engineers at DTL’s Head Office in Eastwood, Nottingham (UK), however, after the secondment period it is hoped the Indian drawing office will be able to complete such project tasks themselves for new orders currently being taken.
