DTL’s qualified Apprentice, Jacob Helliwell wins an Outstanding Student Award from Sheffield Hallam University.
The IET Manufacturing Prize is awarded annually to outstanding students who are completing a course of study which has been accredited by the IET. Prize winners are nominated by their university based on having shown distinction in their course leading to the award of a degree.
As part of his win Jacob will receive a certificate and two years free membership of the IET effective immediately on award of the Prize.
Professor Jeremy Watson CBE, IET President said: “These IET Prizes are a way for talented engineering students to be recognised. These students have demonstrated their outstanding ability in the early stages of their engineering career, only the most exceptional students are awarded this prize.
“The IET is passionate about promoting engineering excellence and our awards and prizes showcase some of the best engineering talent. All of the winners should be incredibly proud of their achievements.”
Jacob studied for an Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Engineering Manufacture – Craft & Design under DTL’s Apprenticeship Scheme.
